The 15-minute truck stop workout (no gym, no gear)

A driver-tested bodyweight workout you can do in the space between two rigs. Full-body in 15 minutes, done in boots, no equipment.

You don't need a Planet Fitness membership. You need 15 minutes and 8 feet of pavement beside your trailer. Here's the workout I give every driver on their first call with me.

The rules

  • Boots on. Yes, boots. You're not going to change.
  • 3 rounds, minimal rest — under 15 minutes total.
  • If your knees or shoulders bark, sub the modifications listed.

The circuit

  • 20 squats (hands behind head, chest up)
  • 10 push-ups against the trailer (elevated = easier on shoulders)
  • 20 walking lunges (10 per leg, use the yellow parking line)
  • 10 rows using the tie-down strap on the rig
  • 30-second plank on the fuel island curb

Why this works for drivers

Every move fights the exact damage sitting 11 hours does: hip flexors shortened, glutes shut off, thoracic spine locked, shoulders forward. Squats and lunges wake the hips. Rows and push-ups re-open the chest. Plank stitches the core back together.

When to run it

During your 30-minute break, right after fueling. You're already outside. You're already stretching your legs. Add 15 minutes of work and you get your streak — the compound interest is real.
